Half Acres Primary School is a popular Community Primary School in Castleford.  Children enter full-time education in September and transfer to a local high school at the end of Year 6.

The school educates children between the ages of 3 and 11 years.  The building was adapted in 1993 to be a Junior and Infant School.  In 2009 the school changed status to a Primary School and in 2012 it was federated with Ackton Pastures Primary School in Castleford. In 2016 the building was extended in order to become a two form entry school.

Half Acres has an  Early Years Unit accommodating 60 full-time Reception children and currently 39 part-time Nursery children.  This Unit also has a special fenced outdoor learning area.

To the rear of the building is a large playing field belonging solely to the school.

If you are thinking of applying for a place for your child at our school you are most welcome to come and visit us to have a look around.  Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
