During Easter week parents/carers were invitied to join us for an Easter workshop. This was a fun activity afternoon where parents could work with their child seeing their deveoping skills. It was so great to see so 90% of you attend!

Here is some of your great feedback we would like to share with you.

Q. What part of today’s session did you enjoy the most and why?

“It was all really good, I enjoyed working with my child at school as it showed me what I need to do with him at home.”

Q. Are there any aspects of your child’s education that you feel that the session has helped you to understand better?

“Where it all starts!”

“I now understand the amount of work and dedication that goes into educating young children.”

We have been celebrating World Book Day!

We hope you had a lovely half term break. Below is our latest newsletter to inform you about our new topic and what your chilld will be learning.

During Spring 1 the children were busy finding out information linked to the topic 'Journeys'.

Hazel from the Schools Library Service came to visit Foundation Stage, she read stories about winter and even brought a friend from the North Pole!

In Autumn 2 our topic was 'Celebrations'. We celebrated Bonfire night and Diwali. The children have made, diva lamps, rangoli patters, mehndi hands and have even tasted some Indian food.

As part of our Christmas celebrations Foundation Stage watched a performance from the Topsy Turvy Theatre Company who performed 'Christmas is Cancelled...Katie Saves the Day!'

During Autumn 1 Upper Foundation have been really busy finding out information related to our topic 'Down on the Farm'.

We have been lucky enough to have a visit from a mobile farm. The farmers from Bowland farm introduced us to rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, hens, sheep, goats and alpacas.

Below are some photos from our fantastic day.

Miss Gardiner joined us to learn about the farm animals.

Mrs Bellwood and Miss Brazel took part in an alpaca race.

On the journey to our school a duck laid two eggs.

The farmer showed us how to shear sheep.

We fed the hens, ducks and goats.
